Serbian Literature and Language with Comparative Literature

Programs of Study – Undergraduate Studies

Through the diachronic studies of Serbian and world literature and by acquiring knowledge from literary history and contemporary literary theories, students will become acquainted with a rich corpus of national literature and gain a thorough insight into European and world literary heritage. They will also be introduced to the basics of other humanistic disciplines, such as psychology, pedagogy, philosophy, aesthetics and cultural history, and will study the relationship between literature and film, theater, music, the visual arts, and modern digital media. In addition, they will acquire the skills necessary for teaching and will be trained to write various professional texts in the fields of literature, language and culture.

Programs of Study – M.A. Studies

Through elective courses at the M.A. level, students have the opportunity to further deepen their interests in specific areas: Serbian Literature (History and Poetics), Comparative Literature (South Slavic and General) and Didactics of Teaching Literature. The M.A. programme introduces students to elements and techniques of scientific work, allowing them to master the methodological aspects of scientific research, and providing them with specialization in the academic field of their choice.
