The Library of the Slavic Department exists and works within Department, since 1878. The Library Fund burnt out at the end of the World War II, in October 1944. Starting from May 1945, the library began to recover and work again.
The Library of the Slavic Department in its fund has monographic and serial publications in Russian, Polish, Czech, Slovak, Ukrainian, Sorabian, Belorussian and Serbian, as well as foreign Slavic literature in German, French, English, Italian and Scandinavian languages.
There are close up to 74,000 books, 291 titles of journals and about 1000 units of non-book material (compact discs, audio and video tapes, records, maps).
The library within the fund has 10 legacies: professor Radovan Lalić, Đorđe Živanović, Duša Perović, Stojanka Popović, Kvapil brothers, Dragutin Mirković, Jara Ribnikar, Nana Bogdanović, Vera Mitrinović and Janko Sabadoš.
The library fund can be searched through the author and subject catalog. Since the introduction of electronic processing, more than 15,000 publications can be searched within the Cobiss system. The library also has catalogs of magister and master papers and doctoral dissertations.
UThe library reading room has 84 seats. In it, the exhibitions and various events are organized which actively follow various symposiums and seminars, event ceremonies and video projections which are important for the Library and the Slavic Department.

Librarians that had made an outstanding contribution to the work of the library in the past are Fedora Grgurov Stojić, Vera Kusicki, Petar Antonović, Miloš Kovačević and Biljana Čudomirović, senior librarian.
- The Library of the Slavic Department works every working day, Monday till Friday.
- Book landing time is: 9:30 – 12:30 and 15:00 – 17:00.
- Reading Room is open from 8:00 till 19:00.

Members of the Library can become all students of the Slavic Department, with an index and ID card. A maximum of three books can be taken from the Library and kept for a maximum of 20 days. Dictionaries, encyclopedias, grammar and other rare literature are exclusively for work in the reading room.
Employees and students from other departments of the Faculty of Philology can use Library fund with some personal document.
