The goal The goal of the course is to familiarize students with the works of the most representative authors in the field of poetry and mostly prose through the topic of translated Czech literature of the 20th century; to point out both the artistic phenomena and the socio-historical circumstances that changed the Czech society during the twentieth century so that the students could gain insight and knowledge about the conditions that encouraged the creation of the literary works of different authors.
The outcome The outcome of the course is for the student to master the technique of literary text analysis, to analyze the literary tendencies of translated contemporary Czech literature, to compare mutual literary phenomena, and be able to conclude for himself to what extent the literary creativity of the selected authors arose as a spirit of the times, and to what measure is a part of personal authorial poetics.
