    The goal Students will be learning about French literature through literary movements from the Middle Ages to the 17th century.
    The outcome Students will learn about the most important characteristics of literary movements and will be able to use acquired knowledge for further individual work. They will master the relevant notions and terminology necessary for analyzing literary texts, as well as develop critical and analytical thinking.
    Contents
    Contents of lectures The most important features of literary periods and movements, as well as aesthetic tendencies from the Middle Ages to the 17th century (medieval literature, Humanism and the Renaissance, la Pléiade, Baroque, Classicism).
    Contents of exercises Analysis of texts from French authors from the Middle Ages to the 17th century. Exemplary texts illustrating the most important characteristics of each literary period and movement.
