    The goal Acquisition and development of language competences, which include reading, understanding, speaking, as well as the acquisition of sociolinguistic skills up to the level defined by the program minimum required for the P1 level.
    The outcome The student will master the basics of the Azerbaijani language, such as the correct acquisition and application of basic words when he hears or reads them, as well as the most frequent phrases from everyday life needed for basic communication (greetings, introductions, simple communicative interaction with other people, etc.). They will master the basic grammatical parts needed for correct use in oral and written form and for understanding short written texts of simple content.
    Contents
    Contents of lectures Basics of Azerbaijani phonetics and morphology: nouns, adjectives, personal pronouns, demonstrative pronouns, plural endings, case endings, possessive suffixes, first and second genitive connection, basic numbers, basic meanings of postpositions, comparison of adjectives, present and past tense of verbs.
    Contents of exercises Teaching includes conversation and exercises that accompany the lectures. Phonetic exercises are based on the basic principles of Azerbaijani spelling: writing and pronouncing sounds with an emphasis on specific ones such as: ç, ə, ğ, q, x. Grammar exercises accompany the material covered in theoretical classes. In lexical exercises, texts adapted for a given level are used with translation exercises, acquisition and application of an active lexical fund related to a specific topic (introductions, greetings, requests, Azerbaijan, colors, etc.). Speaking exercises follow lexical as well as basic communication exercises needed to establish interaction with the speaker on a certain topic.

    Methods of teaching Familiarizing students with grammar and spelling rules through explanations and concrete examples and exercises in class and at home with a check in class.
