      The goal Objective of the course is to acquaint students with the main directions of development of the most artistically important literary genres in Roman and late antique literature, as well as in European early medieval literature, and especially with the highlights of these developments in literary masterpieces.
      The outcome The outcome of the course is to develop students' ability to follow generic developments and intertextual relationships that make up linguistic literary systems in Roman and late antique literature, as well as in European early medieval literature, between which genetic, contact and typological connections establish general literature, and to distinguish between traditional literary genres that were shaped and developed in Roman and late antique literature, as well as in European early medieval literatures, and to acquire the critical ability to evaluate masterpieces as genre peaks based on the expressive criteria established in the internal artistic development of the respective genres.

      Contents of lectures Course content: theoretical teaching is based on familiarization with literary forms through examples of representative works, on review generic orders to which they belong and genre historical developments which make up Roman and late antique literature, as well as European early medieval literature, and pointing out multidirectional intertextual connections.
