      The goal Distinguishing the social, political, religious and cultural life of Japan from prehistory to the end of the Kofun period.
      The outcome The student acquires knowledge about the civilizational development of Japan in the Djomon, Yayoi and Kofun periods, the settlement of Japan, ways of transferring and adopting elements from foreign cultures.

      Contents of lectures Jomon and Yajoi periods, basic characteristics, development of society, culture, beliefs. First mention of the Yamatai Alliance. Empress Himiko and contacts with the Chinese Han dynasty, receiving the golden seal. Contacts with Chinese dynasties and Korean kingdoms. The oldest written monuments - Japanese sources, Chinese sources, Korean sources. State of Yamato. Changes in social and family relationships. Contacts with the continent. Symbols and customs. Early Buddhism and Shinto.
