    The goal Acquiring systematized knowledge about Ukrainian literature of the second half of the 20th century - the beginning of the 21th century through a chronological review of literary phenomena, ideological and aesthetic currents (social realism, modernism, postmodernism, neorealism). Training for the analysis and interpretation of texts of different genres and poetics, a comparative approach to the material. Developing speaking skills in presenting the analysis of the work and leading discussions in the Ukrainian language.
    The outcome The student will get acquainted with the history of Ukrainian literature of the second half of the 20th - the beginning of the 21st century, its most prominent representatives and the characteristics of the periodization of the literary process. He will be able to apply the acquired knowledge in the analysis of works in the Ukrainian language, make comparisons of Ukrainian works with the same or similar texts in European and world literature. Classes are held in the Ukrainian language, which has a linguistic and didactic purpose - developing speaking skills in leading discussions, forming the ability to adequately transpose national and cultural material during translation.
    Contents
    Contents of lectures Review of the literary process of the second half of the 20th - beginning of the 21st century in Ukraine in the context of the most significant historical and cultural events, analysis of the works of the most prominent representatives of Ukrainian literature of this period. The subject includes the following thematic units: Ukrainian literature of the 1950s in the USSR and in the diaspora (the work of representatives of the New York group as the fifth wave of modernism); the 1960s movement as a socio-political and literary phenomenon (ideological and stylistic diversity, search for new themes and forms, connections with dissidents); magical realism and historical novel, social prose of the 80s; literary groups of the 80s and 90s, postcolonial features of Ukrainian postmodern literature; women's prose and gender studies in independent Ukraine; contemporary Ukrainian fiction; neorealism in the literature of the beginning of the 21st century (the theme of war and Ukrainian national identity).
