      The goal Acquaintance of doctoral students with the development of the Albanian language, the emergence of dialects, sub-dialects and speech and their characteristics.
      The outcome The doctoral student acquires competence in the application and development of abilities related to theoretical and practical aspects related to the research of dialects of the Albanian language, as well as to the research of sub-dialects and speech and the possibilities of applying the acquired knowledge in concrete analysis.
      Contents
      Contents of lectures Descriptive and theoretical dialectology. Diachronic and synchronous dialectology of the Albanian language. The emergence of dialectology as a scientific discipline and the stages of its development. Research of geographical variants of the Albanian language. Linguistic variety. Methodological approaches and results in dialectology. Traditional, structural, transformational, sociological dialectology. Language and dialect. Interdialect. Dialectal structure of the Albanian language. Gegian and Toscanian dialect. Models of dialectal text interpretation. Linguistic atlases. Dialect/speech/language from the perspective of contact linguistics. Methods and techniques of dialect/speech research. Field exploration.
