The goal		Familiarity with traditional Turkish art and culture from the pre-Islamic period, cultural and artistic characteristics after the acceptance of Islam, and contemporary tendencies in modern art.
The outcome		The student will become familiar with folk artistic creation in the homeland of the Turks, artistic expression within the framework of the Ottoman Empire, and with currents in modern, contemporary art.
Contents
Contents of lectures		Cultural and artistic creativity in the homeland of Turkish tribal communities, artistic types and expressions in the Ottoman Empire; classical architecture and new trends, Turkish art music, modern trends in Turkish art (painting, sculpture, graphics), film art.
Contents of exercises		Seminar paper on a selected topic.
