Turkish Language, Literature and Culture

Students will learn that Turkish is an Altaic language, that it is agglutinative in structure (derivatives and grammatical forms are built by adding suffixes that have a certain grammatical meaning to the root), that there is no grammatical gender, that it is written in the Latin script, and that is also has a phonetic alphabet. The language is very melodious because it has eight vowels, which is why orientalists called it the ‘Italian of the East’. It is picked up quickly and easily in the initial stage of learning because it seems close to Serbian due to the large number of Turkish loan words that we come across in the Serbian language.
