| Contents of exercises | In practice classes, students get to know journalistic genres: informative, analytical (interpretive), literary-publicistic (fiction) and others. The classes include linguistic and stylistic analysis of newspaper headlines, analysis of the functions of photography and other non-linguistic elements in the newspaper text linguistic and stylistic analysis of informative genres (news, report, interview), analytical genres (article, commentary, criticism, polemic), and literary-publicistic genres (reportage). Tabloid, sensationalist texts and "yellow" press are also analyzed, and the main stylistic features of "women's", "men's" and "teenage" magazines are also distinguished; the functions of caricatures in the daily press are pointed out; the main features of internet journalism and click-bait headlines are recognized. | |||
