      The goal Student will learn about most important notions about francophone literatures of Belgium, Switzerland and Africa and about theirs diversity given the geographical, historical and social circumstances.
      The outcome Acquired detailed knowledge and profound understanding of francophone literature in Belgium, Switzerland and Maghreb countries, theirs societies, historical and cultural elements necessary for further individual research and professional activity.
      Contents
      Contents of lectures 1. Belgian francophone literature: historical review and its perspectives.2.Swiss francophone literature. 3. Literature francophone of Maghreb countries, most important characteristics. 4. Négritude: historical review and the most important representatives of this movement. Acquired knowledge helps students to continue further research or consideration for specific problems such as naturalism in Belgian literature, female writers in swiss literature, place and perspectives for female authors in Maghreb countries.
      Contents of exercises Thorough, commented reading and analysis of chosen extracts of Maurice Maeterlinck, Emile Verhaeren, Marguerite Yourcenar, Benjamin Constant, Charles-Ferdinand Ramuz, Nicolas Bouvier, Assia Djebar, Amin Maalouf and Aimé Césaire.
