      The goal Introducing students to the basic postulates of oriental studies. Students gain knowledge about the characteristics of the main oriental languages and their study in Serbia and the world. Course participants are trained to adopt the terminological corps necessary to engage in further oriental studies.
      The outcome Students know how to define the basic goals of oriental studies, the most important terms related to oriental studies, as well as their history. Course participants adopt knowledge about the characteristics of the main oriental languages, their linguistic families, and their correlation with each other. Students master the knowledge necessary to create a distinction between the concepts of oriental study, orientation, and orientalism.
