| The goal | The student will become familiar with the basic features of Turkish folklore, the place of Turkish folklore in the world cultural heritage and the study of folklore as a scientific discipline. | |||

| Contents of lectures | The first emerging characteristics of Turkish folklore; development of Turkish traditional theater; folk art of handicrafts - carpet making, pottery and ceramics; folk dances and costumes; the main features of Turkish traditional architecture; traditional cuisine and its influence on the Balkan countries; sources of Turkish folk music and folk instruments; traditional sports; folk customs during birth, wedding, sunnah, funeral and other festivities; folk beliefs and superstitions. | |||
