      The goal The student will become familiar with the basic features of Turkish folklore, the place of Turkish folklore in the world cultural heritage and the study of folklore as a scientific discipline.
      The outcome The student will become familiar with the characteristics of Turkish folklore, the forms of folk creativity in various areas of life, as well as folkloristic research in Turkey.
      Contents
      Contents of lectures The first emerging characteristics of Turkish folklore; development of Turkish traditional theater; folk art of handicrafts - carpet making, pottery and ceramics; folk dances and costumes; the main features of Turkish traditional architecture; traditional cuisine and its influence on the Balkan countries; sources of Turkish folk music and folk instruments; traditional sports; folk customs during birth, wedding, sunnah, funeral and other festivities; folk beliefs and superstitions.
