The goal | Further development of language competences that include reading, understanding, speaking as well as the acquisition of sociolinguistic skills up to the level defined by the program minimum required for the P-2 level. | |||
The outcome | The student further develops the basics of the Azerbaijani language, such as the correct acquisition and application of basic words when he hears or reads them, as well as the most frequent phrases from everyday life needed for basic communication and is capable of simple communication: to present information about himself and others in a simple way, as and certain topics and situations from everyday life. They will master the basic grammatical parts needed for correct use in oral and written form and for understanding short written texts of simple content. | |||

Contents of lectures | Grammatical parts: postpositions with dative, postpositions with ablative, past tense, future tense, interrogative pronouns, denominal endings: -li, -lik, -siz, conjunctions, infinitive and shortened infinitive. present past tense of the verb to be in –miş. | |||
Contents of exercises | Teaching includes conversation and exercises that accompany the lectures. Grammar exercises accompany the material covered in theoretical classes. Lexical exercises use texts and sentences adjusted for a given level with translation exercises, acquisition and application of an active lexical fund related to a specific topic that also follows Azerbaijani cultural aspects - composing a dialogue, monologue or short text. Speaking exercises follow lexical as well as basic communication exercises needed to establish interaction with the speaker on a specific topic. | |||

Methods of teaching | Familiarizing students with grammar and spelling rules through explanations and concrete examples and exercises in class and at home with a check in class. Interactive teaching with reading and translation of adapted texts from the given literature while acquiring the basic language fund, as well as conducting simple communication in the Azerbaijani language between students and with the lecturer, who is also a native speaker. | |||
