    The goal Theoretical introduction of students to excerpts or complete works of Ukrainian literature of the 18th and first half of the 19th centuries, poetry, fables and philosophical treatises of Grigory Skovoroda, to the history of Ukrainian culture of the mentioned period, its most significant historical and cultural events, for example the philosophical and ideological-aesthetic foundations of literary trends and movements, to the most prominent complete works of representatives of burlesque and comedy, sentimentalism, romanticism, the Kharkov school of Ukrainian poets, and the Slavophile movement in the original language.
    The outcome The student becomes familiar with presentations, illustrations, excerpts or complete works of Ukrainian literature of the 18th and first half of the 19th centuries, acquires and applies a general knowledge of its most prominent phenomena, translates, analyzes a literary work and actively participates in the discussion, is trained for further independent acquisition of knowledge, participates and develops skills and dexterity in discussion, connects and applies knowledge from different fields, compares works with the same or similar types and genres in European and world literature.

    Contents of lectures An overview of Ukrainian literature of the 18th and first half of the 19th centuries using examples of poetry, fables and philosophical treatises by Grigory Skovoroda, an introduction to excerpts or complete works of this period, the history of Ukrainian culture of the aforementioned period, its most significant historical and cultural events, using examples of the philosophical and ideological-aesthetic foundations of literary trends and movements, the most prominent complete works of representatives of burlesque and comedy, sentimentalism, romanticism, the Kharkov school of Ukrainian poets, and the Slavophile movement in the original language.
    Contents of exercises Using the example of presentations, illustrations, excerpts or complete works of Ukrainian literature of the 18th and first half of the 19th centuries, the student acquires and applies a general knowledge of its most prominent phenomena, translates, analyzes a literary work and actively participates in the discussion, is trained for further independent acquisition of knowledge, participates and develops skills and dexterity in discussion, connects and applies knowledge from different fields, compares works with the same or similar types and genres in European and world literature.
