      The goal Acquaintance with the basic conceptual and methodological apparatus of Developmental Psychology, as well as approaches to the study of psychological development. Acquiring knowledge about cognitive, socio-affective, and moral development, with emphasis on the periods of childhood and adolescence. Understanding and analysis of scientific findings on development and their connection to educational practice.
      The outcome Students will be able to: - explain the concept of psychological development and its various domains; - understand the key topics and basic theoretical approaches in Developmental Psychology and compare them according to the given criteria; - explain designs, methods and ethical principles of research in Developmental Psychology; - integrate the advantages and limitations of different theoretical orientations and research methods; - elaborate on the possibilities for practical application of the knowledge acquired in this course.
      Contents
      Contents of lectures Concept of development and developmental changes, periodization of development. Basic designs and research methods of developmental phenomena. Key issues/themes in developmental psychology (heredity and environment, learning and development, sociocultural environment and development, relations of language and thought). Theoretical approaches to developmental phenomena (psychodynamic, behaviorist, evolutionist, cognitivist, bioecological, etc.). Cognitive development, emotional development, temperament, early affective attachment, social development, moral development, aggression and prosocial behavior, language development, personality development, developmental context, and socialization.
