    The goal Developing communication skills with the ability to express opinions on various topics and acquiring higher knowledge of grammar/vocabulary at the B1/B2 level. Acquiring the ability to speak fluently without major mistakes that would hinder communication, but also to understand spontaneous speech and lectures.
    The outcome After one semester, the student is able to understand the main ideas of B2 level texts and express their opinion on certain topics in an argumentative manner while using adequate vocabulary. At the same time, the student does not make serious mistakes that could impede comprehensibility. They can understand spoken language and lectures on a specific topic and communicate without much difficulty about a wide array of topics.
    Contents
    Contents of lectures Theoretical contents are solely related to content revision and presentation of new grammar and vocabulary units.
    Contents of exercises In the classroom, selected texts and exercises are covered using one of the compulsory textbooks in order to expand the students' vocabulary, develop their ability to understand written text and master grammatical units at the intended level. All grammar units defined in accordance with the upper secondary level corresponding to the B2 level of the Common European Framework for Living Languages ​​are covered. The basic principles of punctuation, spelling, and pronunciation are also covered. Lexical units covered in the lessons also correspond with the upper intermediate level. The course includes word formation and processing of the most common phrasal verbs. Conversion topics are in line with the determined level.

    Methods of teaching Lessons are held in the classroom, using standard teaching methods. All units given in the syllabus are covered in class. At the end of each class, students are assigned homework that is to be completed by next class and that is always related to the content covered in class. Apart from individual work, group work and pair work are also used. Students thus have the opportunity to express their opinion in class independently, but also to work in a group where basic communication is done in English.
