    The goal During the course Introduction to the Islamic Civilization 1, students will learn about the main characteristics of Islam as a religious system, the conditions, and circumstances in which Islam emerges as a religion, as well as its earliest history. Basic settings and concepts of Islamic monotheism, sources of Islam, and five (i.e. six) pillars of Islam and how they defined the framework of Islamic civilization will be explained. Islamic civilization will be presented from a cultural rather than theological standpoint
    The outcome Course participants will be able to analyze the basic terms of Islam and analyze the meaning of Islamic civilization. Students are mastering knowledge of the early history of Islam and its founder, the Prophet Muhammad, which is a prerequisite for deeper knowledge and evaluation of Islamic civilization. They will be able to see on their own the basic stages in the development of Islam and see the importance of the pillars of Islam in the development of Islamic civilization. The students will competently discuss these topics.
