The goal		Familiarity with the history of classical and modern Persian literature, different types of literary schools and masterpieces.
The outcome		Students will be introduced to the main Persian literary schools from three periods (pre-Islamic, post-Islamic and contemporary Persian literature), will acquire basic knowledge about the well-known Persian poets and writers, and their masterpieces from classical and modern literature.

Contents of lectures		History of Persian Literature, Pre-Islamic Persian Literature, Classical Persian Literature, Types of Persian Poems, Epic Masterpieces, Five major Classical Poets (Ferdowsi, Hafez Shirazi, Molana (Rumi), Sa'di Shirazi, khayyam), Literature of Sophism, Modern Persian Literature, Novels and Modern poems, literary schools.
