      The goal Familiarity with the history and structure of Iranian languages includes three periods: Old, Middle, and Modern Iranian languages and dialects.
      The outcome Students will learn about three periods of Iranian language development throughout history and understand the differences between the major modern languages (Persian, Kurdish, Lori, Baluchi, Tati, Mazandaran, Gilaki) in terms of structure and history of script development.

      Contents of lectures Introduction to the group of Indo-European languages, the Iranian language branch, three periods of Iranian language development (old, middle, modern), Eastern and Western Iranian languages, scripts and writing systems, modern Iranian languages and dialects, and ethnography
