The goal | Upgrading and improving grammatical knowledge about verbs, nouns, adjectives and other characteristic paradigms of the modern Albanian language and the modalities of the verb system, their application in a contrastive-comparative approach to the study of Albanian and Serbian and/or another Indo-European language. The aim of the course is to improve the knowledge in this field acquired at previous levels of study, basic academic and master's studies. | |||
The outcome | A more detailed insight into the structure of the grammatical and morphological system of the modern Albanian language, as well as an insight into the specificity of paradigms (verb, noun, adjective, etc.), the specificity of the system of verb modes, the expression of modality and the semantics of modal constructions of the Albanian language from the perspective of a scientific-research approach. Application of acquired knowledge in syntactic analysis, contrastive-comparative approach, translation, etc. Ability to independently conceive and implement scientific research in the field of morpho-syntax. | |||

Contents of lectures | The concept of paradigm, its representation, characteristics and functional range in the grammatical system of the Albanian language. The verb system of the Albanian language. Evolutionary presentation of the Albanian verb system (similarities and differences compared to Serbian and other Indo-European languages). Conjugation paradigms and their peculiarities. Characteristics of athematic conjugation. Impersonal verb forms (changeable and unchangeable) and their equivalents in the Serbian language. The category of persons, tenses and the absence of verb form. Declinational paradigms. Prepositional-case constructions of real and irregular cases. Verb forms and expression of modality, similarities and differences in relation to Serbian. | |||
