      The goal Student will learn about most important notions about francophone literature of Canada and about its diversity given the geographical, historical and social circumstances.
      The outcome Acquired detailed knowledge and profound understanding of francophone Canadian literature and society, necessary for further individual research and professional activity.
      Contents
      Contents of lectures Definition of terms, "Francophonie" - historical review, territories, perspectives, evolution and geography of French language through centuries. Postcolonial principles and territories. Historical review of Canadian francophone literature (novels, poetry and theatre). Works of Louis Emond, Emile Nelligan, Alain Grandbois, Gabrielle Roy, Gaston Miron, Anne Eber, Marie-Claire Blais, René Ducharme, Michel Tramblay, Negovan Rajić. After this course students will be able to follow other programs in master studies ( Introduction to the Canadian civilization, Canadian female authors).
      Contents of exercises Thorough, commented reading and analysis of chosen extracts of Canadian francophone literature Louis Emond, Emile Nelligan, Gabrielle Roy, Anne Eber, Marie-Claire Blais, René Ducharme and Michel Tramblay.

      Methods of teaching Lectures, discussions, analysis of exemplary texts visual materials ( documentary films, historical films, fiction based on novels of this period )Individual work-reading and preparing the analysis of chosen extracts, individual notes on novels, essay writing, on-line and research in libraries, viewing recommended films outside of course. Most lectures and study materials are in French .
