      The goal Familiarization with the social and cultural features of modern Japan - a period after the restoration of Meiji until the end of the Second World War. Getting acquainted with the basic principles of moderni-zation and the way in which they influenced social and cultural changes in Japan.
      The outcome The student gives a critical analysis of the social and cultural changes of modern Japan and can criti-cally present selected aspects of society.

      Contents of exercises Encouraging research and mastering the material with independent work and the use of relevant literature. The student will know how to apply the acquired knowledge and to synthesize and connect information from various sources, thus expanding the abilities for further independent work.
