      The goal Students acquire an understanding of the Francophone literatures of Belgium, Switzerland, and Africa in their diversity in the context of geographical, historical, and social conditions.
      The outcome By completing the program of study, students will acquire a thorough knowledge and understanding of the concepts and literary phenomena of Francophone Belgian and Swiss literatures and Francophone African literatures.
      Contents
      Contents of lectures Theoretical lessons refer to: 1. Literature of Francophone Belgium, historical overview and perspectives. The works of C. de Coster, M. Maeterlinck, E. Verhaeren, F. Hellens, M. Yourcenar, G. Simenon, S. Lilar are treated. 2. Literature of Francophone Switzerland, historical overview and perspectives. The works of B. Constant, Amiel, C. F. Ramuz, B. Cendrars, N. Bouvier are treated. 3. Francophone literature of the Maghreb countries, basic outlines. The works of Assia Djebar, Tahar ben Jelloun and Amin Maalouf are treated. 4. Négritude, history and the main representatives of the movement (Césaire, Senghor, Diop). The knowledge acquired allows for an in-depth analysis of specific thematic units within the framework of a specific teaching cycle (e.g. Naturalism in Francophone Belgian Literature, Women's Writing in Francophone Swiss Literature, Position and Destiny of Women in Francophone Literature in Maghreb countries, etc.)
      Contents of exercises Application, consolidation and deepening of the knowledge acquired in the theoretical lessons through exercises in the interpretation and analysis of selected texts of M. Maeterlinck, E. Verhaeren, M. Yourcenar, B. Constant, C. F. Ramuz, N. Bouvier, Assia Djebar, Amin Maalouf, Aimé Césaire.
