Mastering the use of monolingual and bilingual Japanese dictionaries, as well as ideogram dictionaries.
The outcome | The student acquires basic knowledge about the theory of translation as a special discipline, its inextricable connection with other disciplines and the specificities of translation. He is preparing to independently translate simpler texts, primarily literary, from Japanese into Serbian.
Contents | ||||
Contents of lectures | The class includes a theoretical introduction to the basics of translation theory and the ethical aspects of translation work. Then, the process of preparation for the translation task is explained on the selected texts. The importance of careful reading of the text, textual analysis of the original, vocabulary research, processes of translational transformation and modification, issues of creativity, etc. are pointed out.
Contents of exercises | First with the help of the teacher, then in a group and finally independently, the student approaches the written translation of simpler literary texts, from Japanese to Serbian.
