      The goal Training students in the skills of written translation and training them for high-quality and competent translation of literary texts from Japanese to Serbian, with the application of a wide variety of knowledge in the field of literary theory, literary analysis and the history of Japanese culture. Developing critical thinking and awareness of translation as a mediator between two cultures.
      The outcome The student acquires knowledge about the theory of translation, the specifics and problems of the translation process. He is able to apply the acquired theoretical knowledge during translation and acquires the basics of translation ethics. He is able to analyze, understand and translate literary texts of various genres from Japanese to Serbian.
      Contents
      Contents of lectures The course is designed as reading and analysing the specific literary texts from the point of view of translation problems: from the poetics of the title to the pragmatic, cultural, linguistic and specific problems of the text. It is aimed at acquiring the knowledge and skills necessary for translating a literary text from Japanese to Serbian.
      Contents of exercises The possibilities of transferring the artistic features of all levels of the text: lexical, syntactic, poetic, intertextual, etc., to the native language, are analyzed. The acquired knowledge is applied in the work during the written translation of a specific Japanese literary text, and in this way the rich vocabulary of the foreign and native language is expanded.
