      The goal Through the subject Overview of Ukrainian Literature from the beginning of the 15th to the end of the 18th Century, the student becomes acquainted with the history of Ukrainian culture of the period, its most significant historical and cultural events, with the most prominent representatives of polemical, church and original literature of the period in the original language, and improves the technique of reading, translating and analyzing literary texts. Through the subject Overview of Ukrainian Literature from the 18th Century, the student becomes acquainted with illustrations and excerpts or complete works of this period in the original language, acquires a general knowledge of its most prominent phenomena, translates, analyzes a literary work and actively participates in the discussion, compares the work with the same or similar types and genres in world literature.

      Contents of lectures The course is divided into two topics and presents: 1. An overview of Ukrainian literature from the beginning of the 15th to the end of the 18th century using the example of illustrations and excerpts or complete works in the original language; 2. An overview of Ukrainian literature from the 18th century using the example of illustrations and excerpts from Cossack chronicles, the History of the Rus, and the prose, poetry, and fables of Grigory Skovoroda in the original language.
      Contents of exercises Exercises, reading, translation and analysis of texts from old Ukrainian literature, discussion, interactive teaching.
