      The goal The aim of the course is to introduce students to the various psychological and social factors that influence the process of second language acquisition and learning. In addition, the course develops the fundamental theoretical and practical knowledge necessary for autonomous teaching and for the study of individual differences in the learning of second, foreign, and heritage languages.
      The outcome General learning outcomes: increased level of professional competence; students' ability to think professionally and critically, as well as to identify, examine, and investigate issues related to foreign language acquisition and learning. Specific learning outcomes: students are able to recognize, define, and critically analyze individual factors that influence the process of second language learning and acquisition. They are able to apply newly acquired knowledge to improve their own foreign language learning, as well as propose and implement creative and theoretically based solutions to improve foreign language teaching. Finally, they are prepared to conduct independent investigation of individual factors in relation to L2 learning and teaching.
      Contents
      Contents of lectures Language learning and acquisition. Individual differences in second language learning. Age. Abilities; intelligence; language aptitude. Personality and L2. Cognitive and affective factors in L2 learning. Motivation for L2 learning. Metacognition and self-regulation.
      Contents of exercises Discussions and debates on key phenomena and processes related to individual differences in L2 learning. Analysis and preparation of teaching activities. Critical analysis of relevant research.
