| The goal | Overview of the systematization of translational areas and subareas; overview of linguistic and cultural problems in translation from and into the source languages, i.e. Scandinavian languages; noticing the importance of translation as a way to acquire scientific and professional information. | |||
| The outcome | The candidate is qualified for the preparatory analysis and the actual process of translating subject and literary texts and the application of acquired knowledge in teaching and scientific practice; the candidate acquires competence for further training in that area. | |||

| Contents of lectures | The concept of translation science and its basics; historical development of the discipline and overview of the most important theories; the concept of intercultural communication and its basics; translation knowledge and skills; text categories and translation categories; translation process; basic techniques of written, oral and combined translation; translation evaluation; challenges in translating from Scandinavian languages into Serbian and vice versa; translation aids and technical aids. | |||
