Erasmus+ candidates
Students participating in this program must enroll at the Faculty of Philology, where they will receive their Student Booklet (‘index’), as well as a username and password to log in to the e-Student service. This service is used to register for courses and later to take exams.
The Faculty of Philology organizes 6 exam periods (in January, February, June, July, August, and September). Exam schedules are posted on the relevant Department’s web page. Prior to each exam period, students are required to apply via the e-Student service for exams they intend to take in the upcoming exam period. Multiple exam periods are offered so that students can work at their own tempo which it comes to taking exams and can retake any exams that they failed in a previous exam period.
Enrollment process for Erasmus+ exchange students:
- Certified, signed, and registered Learning Agreement
- Photocopy of passport
- 2 photographs
- Student Booklet (‘index’)
- ŠV-20 form
- List of courses the student wishes to attend during their exchange
- Proof of payment of (international) health insurance for the duration of the exchange
Important: Students who wish to receive an official certificate of exams passed at the Faculty of Philology, including exams passed at the Center for Serbian as a Foreign Language, must be officially enrolled at the Faculty of Philology.

Other forms of cooperation and full-time studies at the Faculty of Philology
Other forms of cooperation at the Faculty of Philology include students visiting on bilateral (university) exchange agreements or those who are holders of scholarships awarded by the Serbian Government. In both cases, students enroll at the Faculty of Philology. Exchange students are enrolled in the same way as students on other exchange programs, while students who wish to study full-time at the Faculty of Philology are enrolled as regular students through the enrollment process for full-time studies.
Enrollment process for full-time studies
The enrollment process for international students enrolling in full-time studies is the same as for all other applicants (local students) with a few additional steps.
- Required documents to apply/enroll::
- transcripts from all four years of high school (or another document which lists the subjects and grades for all four years)
- high school diploma
- birth certificate
- copy of passport
- proof of knowledge of Serbian
- confirmed nostrification of documents or confirmation that the nostrification process has been started
- proof of payment of the application fee
- proof of payment of tuition fees (at the time of enrollment and after the entrance exam)
- All documents submitted for the application process must be translated into Serbian.
- For enrollment in a bachelor’s degree program, high school documents need to be certified by the Qualifications Agency. For admission to master's and doctoral programs, diplomas obtained in foreign countries are submitted for recognition at the University of Belgrade (Studentski trg 1, 1st floor, Office 21). The official confirmation of recognition may be submitted at a later date.
- Students are required to submit proof of knowledge of the Serbian language. This can be a certificate from the Center for Serbian as a Foreign Language at the Faculty of Philology. For this exam, and for the purpose of obtaining a certificate, candidates need to apply on their own and pay the exam fee. Examinations at the Center for Serbian as a Foreign Language are organized within the exam periods set out in the official Calendar of the Faculty (in January and June). This certificate is also necessary for candidates who do not have Serbian citizenship, even if they completed their previous schooling in a Serbian public school.
- After enrolling as a full-time student at the Faculty of Philology, international students who studied at a related university in their respective countries can apply for some of their previously passed exams to be recognized. Students are required to purchase a form (available at the Faculty) on which they will list all the exams they want recognized. This should be submitted together with a copy of the syllabus for each of these courses translated into Serbian and proof of payment of the recognition process fee. The costs are calculated by multiplying the price of recognizing one exam by the number of exams listed on the form.
