      The goal Introduction to the basic principles of academic literacy. Development of reading competence and critical interpretation of (academic) texts. Development of critical approach to academic engagement.
      The outcome The student reads and writes different types of (academic) texts. S/he recognizes and differentiates between the topic, main and secondary ideas, identifies keywords. S/he recognizes elements of textual coherence and cohesion and applies them independently in the production of (academic) short texts. S/he understands and analyzes the main premises of academic honesty and develops critical thinking.
      Contents
      Contents of lectures Different approaches and techniques of reading (global, selective, detailed). Textual intentionality, coherence, and cohesion. Keywords, summary and (critical) review.
      Contents of exercises Analysis and application of theoretical concepts.
