The goal | The course aims to introduce students to a broader approach to lexicology and semantics, based on examples from both Japanese and Serbian languages. It prepares students for further independent research and enhances their knowledge of the Japanese language through problem-based learning and guidance to relevant literature. Additionally, it introduces students to corpus linguistics. | |||
The outcome | Students acquire fundamental knowledge for active independent research in lexicology and semantics, as well as the ability to use relevant literature. They learn to handle the necessary scientific terminology and online language research tools. | |||
Contents | ||||
Contents of lectures | The teaching encompasses a theoretical introduction to lexicology and semantics (partially including morphology). Subsequently, the uses and meanings of individual words are explained through selected texts, emphasizing the importance of precise understanding of lexical meanings in specific contexts. | |||
Contents of exercises | Initially guided by the instructor, then in groups, and finally independently, students analyze word meanings, comparing Japanese and Serbian languages. Through classroom work and selected materials, students gain insight into the practical application of lexicon acquired within the framework of language courses (Contemporary Japanese Language G), expanding and deepening their understanding. Problem-based approach to specific linguistic issues and corpus examination. Reading and interpreting scientific texts related to the assigned topic, particularly in Japanese. Presentation of results from secondary literature and individual research in written and oral form. | |||
