    The goal Acquisition and development of language receptive, productive, interactive and sociocultural skills and acquisition of language and speech competence optimally up to level A1.1
    The outcome The student should master correct pronunciation, acquire and activate the basic lexical fund, adopt basic grammatical forms and constructions and use them correctly in speech and writing, read and understand short written texts and statements related to simple and routine situations (know how to present himself and others, to provide personal information such as where he lives, who he knows and what he owns, as well as to ask others about it, etc.). He is capable of simple communication if the interlocutor is accommodating, and speaks slowly and clearly. The student should adopt the basic spelling rules and apply them correctly when composing sentences and shorter texts.

    Contents of lectures Features of the Ukrainian language at the phonetic and grammatical level shared with other Slavic languages / specific features of the Ukrainian language. Grammar: nouns, adjectives, personal and possessive pronouns - basic characteristics, change, case forms without exceptions (nominative, instrumental, locative singular and plural), basic meanings of case forms; verb - infinitive, present and past tense.
    Contents of exercises The lessons include spelling exercises and phonetic exercises (basic principles of Ukrainian spelling; writing and pronunciation of vowels, consonants; use of graphemes Я, Ê, J, Ю, J; use of apostrophes), lexical exercises with translation exercises (meaning and use of words and phrases from basic lexical fund, prepositional-case constructions, etc. through listening, reading and translating simple texts and dialogues), speaking exercises (topics "Getting to know each other", "In the classroom", "In the library", "My family"; basic communication within the framework of unmarried topic: introduction, introduction, request, providing basic information about oneself and one's family, etc.), grammar exercises (rehearsing material covered in theoretical classes). Use of bilingual dictionaries.

    Methods of teaching Familiarizing students with grammar and spelling rules through explanations and concrete examples, making grammar and lexical exercises in class and at home with checking in class, listening, reading and translating texts from scripts, conducting simple communication in Ukrainian with each other and with the teacher, interactive teaching , independent translation of sentences and shorter texts.
