      The goal The objective of the course is to provide students with general concepts of interdisciplinarity and transdisciplinarity in language research and its possible applications in knowledge creation beyond and above disciplines in a constructive dialogue with all stakeholders, inside and outside of academia.
      The outcome The ability to critically reflect on topics in the field of language studies from interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary perspectives, in contexts of knowledge construction that goes beyond the framework of academic communities. Theoretical knowledge and methodological competences that enable students to work independently on researching various aspects of the relationship between language and society from a socially engaged perspective.
      Contents
      Contents of lectures Collaboration, constructivism and connectivism (networked research), along with the understanding of both the world and the academia as complex, adaptive systems, are at the core interdisciplinary and trandsciplinary scientific research. The course curriculum includes definitions and description of these main concepts, applies themto different areas of language study, coupled with an outline of methodological procedures (mainly qualitative) which may be applied in truly interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary research. Theoretical concepts are upon introduction and presentation tested in collaborative work based on topics of interest to individual students in the course, as well as in research papers which suit the academic needs of each individual student.
