The goal | Familiarity with Spanish drama and theatrical practice, from its beginnings in the Middle Ages to modern times. Focus on major dramatic phenomena (dramatic types and subtypes, works and authors, themes and characters, poetics and practice). Observation of the various forms of theatrical life (performers and other theatrical practitioners, troupes, organization, audiences) and theatrical events (in the church, at court, in theatrical courts and buildings, in streets and squares). Observation of specifically Spanish characteristics - types, genres, themes, characters, authors. An overview of the Spanish contribution to the European cultural heritage in the field of theater and its comparative evaluation. | |||
The outcome | Students learn the basic features of Spanish drama and theatrical practice from the Middle Ages to modern times. They acquire facts about representative works, authors, and phenomena, and practice recognizing and evaluating them in both Spanish and European and world contexts. They learn which Spanish playwrights were received in Serbia, when and how. | |||
