      The goal The student approaches the linguistic phenomenon of his/her interest as a problem and learns how to search for relevant literature to solve it. Acquisition of theoretical and practical knowledge of scientific concepts and research procedures required for successful independent research work from contrastive analysis, as well as understanding its purpose and how to use its results.
      The outcome The student has learned to independently define the language area and phenomenon that interests him and can, following his interests, conduct active and independent research work, as well as use relevant literature and tools in this process. The student gained personal experience in contrasting the Japanese and Serbian languages and in writing a scientific paper (10-30 pages).
      Contents
      Contents of lectures Getting to know the postulates of contrastive analysis and its tools. Then, through examples, different types of analysis are pointed out. The importance of independent, careful critical reasoning, defining the corpus, and the use of relevant literature is pointed out.
      Contents of exercises Discussions on the current stages of research. Presentation of results from secondary literature and own research in written and oral form.
