      The goal Preparing students for further independent research work and improving their knowledge of the Japanese language with the help of a problem-based approach and reference to the necessary literature. Acquisition of basic theoretical and practical knowledge of scientific concepts and research procedures needed to successfully perform contrastive analysis, as well as understanding its purpose and how to use its results. Getting to know corpus creation and analysis.
      The outcome The student has learned to independently define the language problem that interests him and is able to, following his interests, conduct active and independent research work, as well as use relevant literature and tools in that process. The student gained insight into the problems visible only with the help of error analysis and comparison of the original and translated texts.
      Contents
      Contents of lectures Getting to know the postulates of contrastive analysis and its tools. Followed by a group and individual analysis of the selected materials (texts and examples of errors). The importance of independent, critical reasoning is pointed out.
      Contents of exercises First with the help of the teacher, then in a group, and finally independently, the student approaches the analysis of the use of different grammatical and/or lexical units and constructions, comparing Japanese and Serbian. Through work in class and on the selected materials, he gains insight into the practical methodology of performing scientific and research work. Presentation of results from secondary literature and own research in written and oral form.
