      The goal The first part is dedicated to the introduction of the basic trends of Japanese literature from its beginnings to the end of the 12th century: 1. Introduction (the problem of periodization); ancient literature (Nara period: from the very beginning to 794); late ancient literature (Heian period: from the 9th to the 12th century); medieval literature (1192-1600). Each section contains a general review of the literary currents, literary life, formal and thematic changes and development; understanding of the beautiful; the development of literary genres. The second part deals with poetry (Manyoshu, Kokinshu, Shinkokinshu).
      The outcome Acquiring basic knowledge of Japanese ancient and late ancient literature, primarily about poetry.
      Contents
      Contents of lectures 1. Introduction (the problem of periodization); ancient literature (Nara period: from the very beginning to 794); late ancient literature (Heian period: from the 9th to the 12th century); medieval literature (1192-1600).       Contents of exercises Lectures, analysis of texts, discussion of the reading material, consultations, preparation of the research paper.
